The Dr. Jay Charitable Foundation
is pleased to announce that the sixth annual Unicorn Dream
Dinner will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Spirale Banquet
and Conference Centre located at 888 Don Mills Road, Toronto.
This evening is held in memory of Samantha Jaye Posen Young.
When Samantha was dying of a brain tumour at the age of 5
1/2, she told her parents that she will live in their memories
just like the unicorns that no longer inhabit the earth, but
are thought of always. Her mother Robyn was appreciative of
the support that Samantha and the family received from the
Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative
Care and wanted to make sure that other children and families
received specialized end of life care that focused on quality
of life.
Thus began the fundraising efforts and to date we have raised
almost half a million dollars and a children's centre for
pediatric palliative care and grief is now a reality. With
the involvement of the Dr. Jay Charitable
Foundation the program has grown and hundreds of children
are now cared for annually. The wonderful work that the specialized
staff is doing can only be maintained with donated funds.
The evening will include fabulous live and silent auctions,
live entertainment and dinner. Proceeds help support The Dr.
Jay Children’s Grief Program at the Max and Beatrice
Wolfe Centre for Children's Grief and Palliative Care, Mount
Sinai Hospital. Tickets are $180 each (partial tax receipt
will be provided).
Please call 416-651-4419 if you are interested in attending
this fun filled evening, and we will send you a personal invitation
with the specific details.
We look forward to seeing you there.
