For Immediate Release

The Dr. Jay Charitable Foundation to receive major donation from sale of
Royal Doulton Princess Diana figurines.

Toronto, ON — August 29, 2007 — The Dr. Jay Charitable Foundation is thrilled to announce that in honour of the memory of Princess Diana they’ll be receiving a generous donation that will help to provide Palliative Care funding and support for children in the Toronto area.

Royal Doulton, the manufacturer and distributor of the limited edition hand crafted Princess Diana figurines, has committed to donating $10 from the sale of each of the 4,000 figurines released in Canada. Vendors including The Shopping Channel and William Ashley will donate another $10 from each sale.

“In honour of the 10th anniversary of the Princess’ death we have chosen to support Pediatric Palliative Care, a charitable cause that Diana was extremely committed to,” says Royal Doulton’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Michael Pearl. “The Dr. Jay Foundation is the only one of its kind in Canada working to better the lives of children and their families.”

Over the past decade, Dr. Jay Bacher has worked with a committed team of volunteers and board members including Elinor Caplan and Michael (Pinball) Clemons to help families face terminal illness with dignity and determination. The charity began as a dream of four long-time golf buddies, and from the 1996 Dr. Jay Golf Classic it has grown into a registered Charitable Foundation that has raised over $2.5 million.

“We’re incredibly honoured to be mentioned in the same breath as Princess Diana,” says Dr. Jay Bacher, Director and President of the Dr. Jay Charitable Foundation. “We are proud to carry on her commitment and dedication to children in need.”

The expected $80,000 to be raised from the sale of the Royal Doulton figurines will help support the new Dr. Jay Children’s Grief Program that works in association with Mount Sinai Hospital, Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care and Hospice Toronto. The program provides grief counseling to dying children and to children whose parent or sibling is dying.

“We add life to a child’s time, not just time to a child’s life,” says Dr. Bacher. “Our organization is 100 per-cent voluntary and all dollars raised go directly toward helping children.”
